This review is for the takeout food. Looks like they have been renovating their kitchen for some time now so no hot food (and idk if they will ever bring it back), but I was able to get the raw beef larb and papaya salad along with a side of sticky rice. All I gotta say is yum!!! The beef larb was especially flavorful. Ask to make it bitter- that's the only way to eat raw larb. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Vegas.
My wife was craving some Lao food so off we went to the market. Not to get stuff to cook but to eat because this market sells food to go here! Last time we were here was prob 3 yrs ago. Their kitchen is being renovated at this time (Aug 2025) so we couldn't get any hot entrees (noodle soups) but they have cold items, luckily. We had the following: 1. Lao style papaya salad - It was soo good and on point with flavors! 2. beef larb - Comes with fresh cabbage wedge, cucumber and Thai chilies if you want more heat. We ordered ours at medium heat and it was perfectly delicious! Very authentic and just as good as what my mom used to make! 3. Nem salad - comes with fresh lettuce and cilantro for wraps with Nem. It was good as well but I would have liked more nem in it cuz that's how I like my Nem salad, lol 4. 2 orders of sticky rice: They were moist and chewy and so good with the larb and papaya salad. The portion is big here, unlike other places where the portion is very small. They are very nice and friendly, we chatted a bit. They are family owned, 16 yrs and counting! They get a lot of locals and out of towners come for their food and grocery store and are open 7 days a week. It's not a fancy store but has everything from fresh produce too cooking essentials and frozen goods. If you want authentic Lao food, come here cuz you won't be dispointed. The store front is unassuming and nothing fancy on the inside but they have a couple of seatings if you want to eat your to go items there. It is about 10 min from the strip and right on Desert Inn for the locals. We came for the food and their hospitality. It is definitely worth a trip for some yummy grubs!! nom nom nom
From the moment I walked into Laos Asia Market, I knew I was in for a treat. This isn't just a place to eat; it's a journey into the heart of Laotian cuisine. The Laos Papaya Salad was my first stop - a perfect blend of fresh, unripened papaya with a daring salted anchovy sauce. It's a unique clash of flavors that works beautifully. Then came the Chicken Larb, generously packed with seasoned chicken and cilantro - a combination that may split opinions but undeniably delivers on taste. But the showstopper? Their Chicken Curry. Imagine a bowl filled with tender chicken, creamy coconut milk, and pickled young bamboo, all for an incredibly reasonable price. It's comfort food that takes you places. The ambiance is simple yet inviting. Asian TV plays quietly in the background, adding to the authentic feel of the place. It's not bustling or flashy, but that's its charm. The staff deserve a special mention too - engaging, friendly, and creating a warm atmosphere that complements the food perfectly. Whether you're a foodie looking for new flavors or just in the mood for a hearty, satisfying meal, Laos Asia Market is a must-visit. It's a simple setup with a focus on what matters: great food, great prices, and great people. A hidden gem that's definitely worth exploring! This Lao Asian Market is awesome! Every time we come to Vegas or pass by we make it a point to visit this Market. They have many cooking essentials and a small restaurant inside that cooked amazing traditional lao food. There are also many food and deserts that are packaged and ready to go. Definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys Lao food & desserts. A must try!
I cannot speak enough great things about this place. Like many laotian/thai shops: this is family owned. The selection is product is very wide and it was refreshing to see that the produce was fresh and reasonably priced. There's a little food area on the far right side of the atore which sells the following items . They have hot items up front along with a select menu. The menu may be small but the flavor speaks for itself. Being of laotian descent; this reminded me of home. I recommend the sour bamboo soup with some rice. 🥹. Pictured is Khao piek Sen which is similar to upon noodles but the broth is a little thicker/ add some Chilli sauce and it's perfect. They have the stapled food items that would make you feel like you're apart of the culture. I LOVE how the ladies were welcoming their customers and made sure to explain what the dishes were for those who didn't know. (They do speak English too). I also got the frozen and table desserts which I HIGHLY recommend. Their '"coconut soup' is similar to the vietnamese ché but just add some ice.... this place is super under rated.
Friendly people, small Asian mart with a selection of fresh produce. Particularly happy to find holy basil and Thai eggplants. Their Thai Larb is tasty and their level 8 spicy is tasty without being overpowering. Their Pa Lo (pork and egg in savory broth) is heavy on the cinnamon and five spice, comforting and a very nice option for those who do not go for spicy food. I was delighted with the way they include fresh crab in their Som Tum (Thai Style papaya salad). Their market also had a nice selection of Thai desserts I enjoy. Great for take out, has tables for dining in casually - somewhat cafeteria style.
